Arcade Fire Treat Us With Two New Track Teasers

Posted by cristóvão On May - 20 - 2010

…and one helluva cool widget! I won’t tell you how to use it but I’m sure you’ll get the gist soon enough.

Montreal’s Arcade Fire have apparently finished recording their third album, which has yet to be named, and it’s said that it should be out later this summer. Of course, there are also rumours that once the album comes out, we’ll see the group hit the road beginning with a number of festival appearances in both North America and Europe. In fact, Arcade Fire are billed in this year’s Reading and Leeds Festivals in the U.K. this August and front-man Win Butler announced via post-card to NME magazine “We’re really looking forward to playing the new songs live…[it’s] like an inventor emerging from his basement after a year’s work.”

The two tracks being teased in the widget below are called “the Suburbs”, a folky-piano piece and “Month of May”, and edgier more aggressive sound.

Have fun with the widget!

STP the Presses

Posted by ogcin On March - 9 - 2010

Written by: Nic Gouveia (NIGCO.CA)

Let’s try a little exercise. Take New York City, a nightclub packed with booze and Scott Weiland and what do you get? Usually, a combo made for ‘TMZ’ but on February 23rd it meant much more, it may have been the night where the rebirth of the Stone Temple Pilots was witnessed.

With the entire band on hand, STP revealed all twelve tracks of their yet to be titled sixth album. After a long six year hiatus, many who attended the party were very complimentary of what they had heard. Twitter has been blowing up with people who were there (or say they were) complementing the album. One such tweep called it “A natural, melodic progression for Stone Temple Pilots.”

Tons of kudos are also coming in on the appearance of Scott Weiland, as one person put it “he’s never looked physically better.” The band intends on touring during the spring and summer in support of the new album and has hinted on festival appearances and perhaps even starting their own festival.

Below is the track listing for the new STP album;

  • “Between The Lines”
  • “Take A Load Off
  • “Huckleberry Crumble”
  • “Hickory Dichotomy”
  • “Dare If You Dare”
  • “Cinnamon”
  • “Hazydaze”
  • “Bag Man”
  • “Pea Coat”
  • “Fast As I Can”
  • “First Kiss On Mars”
  • “Maver”
